IND vs SL: Ravindra Jadeja can return in T20 series against Sri Lanka

The three-match Twenty20 International series between India and Sri Lanka will begin on February 24. The Indian team for the series will be announced in the near future. Prior to the team selection, a report has surfaced claiming that former Indian captain Virat Kohli can avoid the T20 series. Ravindra Jadeja, an experienced all-rounder, could return after four months.

Since November 2021, Jadeja has not played international cricket. Due to an injury, he was unable to participate in the South African tour. At the same time, he has opted out of the West Indies’ One-Day International and Twenty-20 International series. In the Kanpur Test against New Zealand, Jadeja played. He is now ready to rejoin Team India. He is almost certainly going to be in the squad for the two-Test series. He may also be given the opportunity to participate in a series of T20 matches.

According to Cricbuzz, Jadeja has already arrived in Lucknow ahead of the T20 match on February 24. He is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He is expected to be quarantined in a Lucknow hotel, according to reports. If his Kovid test results are negative, he will be eligible to play in the T20 tournament.

Bumrah could also be reunited with Jadeja.

Along with Jasprit Bumrah, Jadeja is expected to return. Bumrah was also ruled out of the West Indies’ T20 and ODI series. Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Jadeja were all rested by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on January 26.

Rohit Sharma has the potential to become the Test captain.

During the team selection, the new captain of the Test team may also be announced. Following the defeat in the Test series against South Africa, Virat Kohli resigned last month. The name of the Test team’s captain has yet to be announced following his withdrawal. Rohit Sharma is expected to be given the captaincy of the Test team after the ODI and T20 series.

In the T20 series, Kohli can take a break. In the Test series, he has a chance to make a comeback. The 100th Test match of his career will be played in Mohali for the first time. On November 22, 2019, Virat Kohli scored his last century in a Test match against Bangladesh in Kolkata. He hasn’t been able to score a century in an international match since then.
