IOC session 2023: International Olympic Committee meeting to be held in India

Mumbai will host the International Olympic Committee’s 140th meeting. India won the right to host the next Olympic Committee meeting at the 139th meeting, which took place in Beijing on Saturday. At the time, no country stood in India’s way. India will host the Olympic Committee meeting for the second time in 2023, with the meeting taking place in Mumbai for the first time. This meeting was previously held in Delhi in 1983. Tennis players such as Leander Paes, Nita Ambani, and Anurag Thakur have expressed their delight at India’s hosting of the tournament.

India’s Abhinav Bindra, Narinder Batra, and Nita Ambani attended the International Olympic Committee’s 139th meeting. Abhinav is the first Indian player to win a gold medal in an Olympic singles event. Nita Ambani is a member of the Indian Olympic Committee, while Batra is the President of the Indian Olympic Association. Anurag Thakur, India’s Minister of Sports and Youth, was also present at the meeting. In the summer of 2023, the Olympic Committee will meet at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.

The IOC’s annual meeting is attended by all members. This is the International Olympic Committee’s largest meeting, and the decisions made there are unanimous. The IOC usually meets once a year, but the chairman of the committee can call a meeting if necessary by sending written invitations to at least one-third of the members.

A total of 101 IOC members are eligible to vote.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has a total of 101 members with voting rights. Aside from that, there are 45 honourable and one respected members who are not eligible to vote. More than 50 international sports federations have presidents and secretaries on the Olympic Committee. This meeting is also attended by members of the Summer and Winter Olympics.
