IPL 2022 Gujarat Titans: This opener of England withdrew from the league

Gujarat Titans have suffered a major setback ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League’s 15th season (IPL). Jason Roy, the league’s new franchise’s explosive batsman, has withdrawn his name. The star England opener has withdrawn from the league due to issues with the bio bubble.

Gujarat paid two crores for Roy, who was a member of Sunrisers Hyderabad at the time of the auction. Roy reportedly informed the Ahmedabad-based franchise of his decision last week, according to reports. However, his replacement has yet to be announced by the team.

Jason Roy has withdrawn from the T20 league for the second time in his career. He had previously withdrew his name from the Delhi Capitals due to personal reasons in the year 2020.

Roy was recently a member of the Pakistan Super League’s Quetta Gladiators, where he was the team’s leading run-scorer in six games. He had a 50.50 average and a 170.22 strike rate in his career.

This season, a total of ten teams will compete in the IPL. The league will run for approximately two months, from March 26 to May 31. Hardik Pandya will be in charge of Gujarat, and the team will include players like Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, and David Miller.
