Turkey: Imran Khan’s ‘friend’ Erdogan congratulates Shahbaz Sharif

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was the first to congratulate Shahbaz Sharif on becoming Prime Minister, describing former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as a “friend.” Erdogan’s government had warned against plotting a foreign conspiracy to depose Imran Khan until just a few days ago. When Erdogan congratulates Shahbaz Sharif, Imran supporters become enraged.
According to the PML-N, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Shehbaz Sharif that he was delighted to have him as Prime Minister. Erdogan has a long history of friendship with the Sharif family. Erdodan was the one who first congratulated Imran on his appointment as Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the Turkish President’s first call to Shahbaz Sharif has caused a stir on social media. Former Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had previously claimed that Turkey had expressed concern about a foreign conspiracy to change power in Pakistan.

‘Imran Khan is the target of a judicial coup.’

‘Erdogan does not know who he is congratulating,’ writes Ali Wajahat Niazi, an Imran supporter. With the help of the Pakistani army, money manipulators have risen to power. ‘This is a judicial coup against Imran Khan with the army’s support,’ writes Ali Bukhari. Furthermore, in a country where courts are closed during the day, a court opens at midnight to prevent Prime Minister Imran Khan from dismissing the army chief. The move by the Deputy Speaker was also declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Apart from Turkey, India, the United States, and many other countries have congratulated Shahbaz Sharif on his appointment as Prime Minister. After supporters of Imran Khan’s party boycotted the election, PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif was elected as Pakistan’s 23rd prime minister on Monday. He received 174 votes in the House of Commons. Imran Khan’s party nominated Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the position of Prime Minister. He announced that he would resign from the National Assembly in its entirety.

‘For the first time in history, a motion of no confidence in a prime minister was successful.’

Shehbaz Sharif stated that this is the first time a no-confidence motion against a prime minister has been successful in Pakistani history. ‘And good has triumphed over evil,’ he added. The new Pakistani Prime Minister stated that it is a “big day” for the entire country when a “elected” Prime Minister is legally and constitutionally removed. A fall in the value of the US dollar of Rs 8 reflects “people’s happiness,” he said.
