Erdogan has a long history of friendship with the Sharif family. Erdodan was the one who first congratulated Imran on his appointment as Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the Turkish President’s first call to Shahbaz Sharif has caused a stir on social media. Former Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had previously claimed that Turkey had expressed concern about a foreign conspiracy to change power in Pakistan.

Imran Khan’s party nominated Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the position of Prime Minister. He announced that he would resign from the National Assembly in its entirety.
