Despite being banned, Garena Free Fire app still available in Samsung store

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently issued a ban on 54 Chinese apps. Popular apps such as Garena Free Fire and AppLock are included in the list of apps that have been banned for security reasons. These apps have been removed from Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store as a result of the ban, but they remain available on Samsung’s store. The presence of the app on Samsung’s store was first reported by 91Mobiles.

According to the report, many of the 54 banned apps on the Galaxy Store come pre-installed on Samsung phones, though Samsung has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Users who already have these apps on their phones can continue to use them. Developers, telecom operators, and internet service providers were also ordered to block the app and remove it from the store after it was banned in 2020, but this did not happen this time.

All of these apps were sending data from Indian users to China and other countries, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. According to reports, these apps were sending data from Indian users to foreign servers. Apps from major Chinese companies such as Tencent, Alibaba, and NetEase are among the 54 apps that have been banned. According to reports, the 54 apps that were banned were a reincarnation of the apps that were banned in 2020.
