On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a high-level meeting on the situation in Ukraine. According to reports, the meeting will take place shortly after the Prime Minister returns from organising the election conch shell in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi.
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, was held earlier on Thursday. Many ministers attended, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and others.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During this time, the PM reiterated his long-held belief that the only way to resolve differences between Russia and NATO is through open dialogue.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Prime Minister Modi on the phone on Saturday. Zelensky had asked Prime Minister Modi to support the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), as well as share information about the country’s situation.
